Winkler Speaker Series in Industrial Relations with guest speaker Tony Giles

Anthony Giles holds a PhD in Industrial Relations from the University of Warwick. He taught Industrial Relations for nearly 20 years, first at the University of New Brunswick, then at Laval University. In 2004, he joined the Labor Program of the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada as Director General of International and Intergovernmental Labor Affairs, and in 2007 he was appointed Director General of Strategic Policy, Analysis and Information on Workplaces. In 2015 he was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy, Dispute Resolution and International Affairs. He retired from the federal government in 2021 and now teaches in the Master of Industrial Relations program at Queens University.
