Rob Harrap is an adjunct professor in the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering at Queen's University. He did his undergraduate degree in Geological Engineering at Queen’s, followed by an M.Sc. in Cordilleran Tectonics and Structural Geology at Carleton University. Since 1990 he has been at Queen's in a variety of roles including PhD student, research associate, and part time Adjunct. During that time his emphasis has been on the use of technology to supplement field and office based geological mapping, with an increasing emphasis on opportunities arising from advances in visualization and game design methods. Rob has also worked extensively with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), LiDAR scanning, databases, and artificial intelligence, with applications areas ranging from natural resources and natural hazards to educational game design.
