The Centre, in collaboration with the associated project Building Democracy in Ukraine, is supporting a comprehensive assessment of democratic development in Ukraine. This undertaking has been designed as a pilot to test and develop a framework for the strategic planning and evaluation of assistance to democratic development.
The first stage in the pilot was a workshop on November 26 and 27, 2010 for preliminary discussion of papers commissioned for the assessment. After some revisions, these papers will be posted on the web site of a new Ukrainian centre on democratic education for the purpose of encouraging widespread engagement from Ukrainian researchers and citizen organizations in the assessment.
