Over the past number of months, the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving (ARAG) team has consulted both internal and external stakeholders as we develop new comprehensive strategies for the Toronto market and for our community of recent graduates. I want to thank everyone who has participated to date.
As a result of this work, the team has created draft plans that will guide our discussions in the March planning process. We’ve come a long way in the last few years, and I am proud to say that these new strategies fully embed philanthropy into the day-to-day work of alumni relations. This is a huge shift in direction for Queen’s alumni relations programming that has been wholeheartedly embraced by the entire Advancement team. Putting this into practice and developing tactics and programs to support our new direction will take patience and time. I couldn’t be more excited about where we are headed.
If you want to review the draft strategies and provide feedback it is welcome.
Special thank you to Sara Franca, Kim Day, and Rachel Castellano for their leadership.
Measuring our Remote-First pilot
Are you wondering how we will know if our Remote-First pilot program has been a success? What will success look like for the Advancement team? The ALT has taken the next step and developed Measurements of Success (\\wfs.queensu.ca\adv\Workgroups\ADV Common\Policies and Procedures\Remote-first Pilot Measurements of Success.pdf).
A call for volunteers
Advancement Enhancement Day is a day dedicated to staff where we celebrate each other and take part in personal and professional development activities. This year, we will be doing this on June 15. The plan for this year is to deliver a diverse in-person program!
Keeping with tradition, Enhancement Day programming will be designed by staff for staff. If you are interested in being a co chair and/or volunteering to help plan and deliver Advancement Enhancement 2021, please email Kate Bearse by end of day Friday, March 11.
Our first planning meeting will be scheduled for the week of March 21. Subsequent meetings will be on a bi-weekly basis (weekly in May and June). If you have any questions, please connect with Kate Bearse.

The Employee Spotlight celebrates the arrival of our new and existing staff by profiling responses they share through a fun and informal survey that will help us get to know them better.
