Through its study of various cultural productions, theoretical texts and essays, this course examines different meanings surrounding the concept of the human body. The course aims to familiarize students with several contemporary artists and thinkers whose creative and intellectual practices reflect on political issues by showing various ways of inhabiting the human body. How are norms for the human body constructed? Which forms of the human body do they prioritize, and which are seen as marginal?
