CURR 382 Social Science (IS) Units: 3.00
Provides an introduction to the theory and practice of Social Sciences and Humanities (represented in this curriculum by courses in equity studies, family studies, general social sciences, philosophy, and world religions) as part of the current Ontario Secondary School curriculum. Candidates explore the discipline and philosophy related to Social Science education, using "general social sciences" foundations of the curriculum (defined as anthropology, sociology, and psychology) as its primary focus. Course work emphasizes instructional design related to daily planning, curating suitable content for adolescent learners, assessment and evaluation of student learning in Social Science in accordance with current Ministry of Education practices, and maintaining the learning environment.
