Research Bio
After 3 decades working on problems of interest to condensed matter physicists, Bob now works on problems associated with what can best be described by theoretical molecular medicine. Quite simply, trying to bring a formal mathematical approach to medical research that will best allow research studies to be translated to clinical applications.
Much of Bob's research work focuses on cancer biology - discovery of new biomarkers from bioinformatics studies of genomics data - but he also works on telomere biology, as well as attempts to best identify the components of aging that will allow it to be treated as a disease rather than a condition, thereby providing the possibility of therapeutic interventions.
