A summary of the changes that will be made to the WebPublish Academia, Basic, and Custom services on October 25, 2022.

As a reminder, site owners in the Custom service level are encouraged to review the impact of these changes on their site by reviewing it in the Preview environment. You can access the preview version of your site after the morning of October 19, at https://wp3-prev.its.queensu.ca/prev_[pubID] (without the square brackets). 

New Features and Improvements

  • Brand updates - includes colour changes to footer, header, and other areas of sites; a different favicon; and a new masthead image for the Queen's news paragraph
  • Start date on slider/hero images - allows slides to be loaded in advance of the date they will be displayed
  • Audio file streaming - now possible within the video/audio embed paragraph
  • Expand/collapse all accordion option - allows site visitors to quickly expand all accordion containers in a paragraph and site editors to expand all in a paragraph by default on a page.
  • (Academia only) legacy fields - removed legacy fields from the Academia bio paragraph

Fixes

  • Adjusted spacing of event and news paragraph headings
  • Fixed blockquote tag so it is no longer flagged in Siteimprove
  • Adjusted the colour of the <code> tag so that it is accessible
  • Adjusted mobile overlay for staggered blocks so that colour is no longer affected
  • Fixed issues with accordion tab container titles
  • Addressed Sa11y warning when using the icon column layout and selecting "Hide link on desktop"
  • Fixed issue where image gallery arrows were not appearing
  • Adjusted styling for hierarchy of event filters
  • Fixed issue where second level menu items were inconsistently indented
  • Fixed issue where images in 2 column paragraph were creating horizontal scroll
  • Adjusted image captions to fit image instead of content width
  • Fixed issue where accordion tab paragraph anchors don't scroll to top of paragraph
  • Adjusted contrast of "More" items on event calendar to be accessible
  • Adjusted arrow on menu items to point down, instead of to the right
  • Paragraphs are no longer required on the Event content type
