The following items outline the steps on how to Create a Note Taking request, Selecting a Note Taker, and Downloading notes.

Creating a Note Taking request for a course

Step 1: After logging in, click on 'COURSE NOTES'.

Step 2: Click on COURSES/NOTES tab.

Step 3: Change each note taking requirement for each course from 'no' to 'yes'.

Step 4: Click on 'OK' if you wish to have note taking for the particular course.

Step 7: Since this particular course is an online course, no note taker is required.

 I don't want note taking for this particular course since it is online. I'm going to leave the requirement as 'No'.

Step 8: The request for all the courses that I need has been submitted. Wait for an email to your queen's account to let you know when a note taker has become available.

Selecting a Note taker

Step 1: When a note taker has become available for a course you will receive notification through your queen's email account.

Step 2: Click on the 'Select a note taker' button.

Step 3: You will be presented with an anonymous list of note takers. You have the opportunity to view sample notes by the note taker or select the note taker.

Step 4: To view sample notes, click on ' Check sample notes'.

Step 5: Each note taker has the option of uploading up to 3 sample notes. Review the notes carefully before making your decision.

Step 6: Click on the note name to open the file.

Step 8: After reviewing the file(s). Click 'Back to Choose Note taker'.

Step 9: You can click on 'Choose this note taker' to add them as your note taker for this course.

Step 10: Click 'OK' to verify choosing the note taker.

Step 11: You are informed that you have assigned a note taker for a course and they have been emailed.

Step 12: Your availability has been changed to 'Selected'.

Step 13: If you wish to change a note taker, or selected the wrong one, either use the 'Submit a comment' tab at the top, or email the Note Taking Program Coordinator at notetake@queenu.ca.

Downloading Notes

Step 1: We will now go through the steps of downloading notes from the Note taking portal.

Step 2: Click on 'Notes' for the course you want to download notes.
