Sanctions

Sanctions are intended to be educational and progressive. When determining sanctions across the non-academic misconduct (NAM) system, decision-makers will be guided by the principles of educational development, deterrence, restitution and, where appropriate, restorative justice. 

Sanctions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Apology
  • Educational assignments
  • Letters of behavioural expectations
  • Loss of privilege
  • Monetary fine
  • No contact or behavioural bond
  • Restitution
  • University or community service
  • Written warnings
     
  • Notice of prohibition (only of Category 2)
  • Requirement to withdraw (only of Category 2)
