Elizabeth May is the leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands. Ms. May is a graduate of Dalhousie Law School, has worked practicing law, in policy analysis in government and in civil society. For seventeen years she was Executive Director of the Sierra Club of Canada. Her contribution to Clayoquot summer was to organize a coast to coast rail caravan, "The Clayoquot Express," traveling from St. John's Newfoundland to Tofino, to maintain pressure and publicity into the fall of 1993. She is an Officer of the Order of Canada, author of seven books, was chosen (by a vote of all MPs) as Macleans magazine's 2012 Parliamentarian of the Year and by Hill Times as 2013 Hardest Working MP and Best Constituency MP.
