Can Governments Cope?

April 29, 2011

Peter_Milliken.jpgThe Honourable Peter Milliken, M.P.

In a world of financial disarray, new security threats, climate change, social service pressures and fiscal constraint, how do Canadian governments meet domestic and international challenges?  This is the underlying theme for the 2011 Queen’s Policy Studies Forum, to be held on April 29, 2011 at Queen’s University in Kingston.

As in previous years, the Policy Forum will include panel discussions and the Donald Gow Memorial Lecture, following an evening banquet.  New this year is the addition of the Donald Matthews Lecture (at noon) and an opening panel presentation by three directors of the School of Policy Studies, who are each internationally prominent in their research fields.  Also new is a one-day format and a new pricing structure that we hope will make it possible for more people to attend the full slate of events.

Join Queen’s MPA alumni, current and new students, faculty, policy professionals and other concerned with public affairs, to celebrate the beginning of the School’s 25th anniversary year, as we consider the most important policy ideas of the last 25 years and the challenges we face in the coming years.
