SOLUS - new banking information

NEW – Banking information
1) BANKING INFORMATION ON SOLUS – No spaces, dashes, or underscores!
If you are entering your banking information on SOLUS, please do not use any spaces, dashes, underscores, etc. Using these characters causes failures when processing transactions.
2) SUMMER COURSES AND TUITION
If you registered for Summer 2011 term graduate courses (courses taken between May 1 and August 31, 2011) prior to March 8, 2011, those details should be available to you in SOLUS. Graduate students cannot currently register for Summer 2011 courses online—contact your department for an Academic Change Form if you need to enroll in any more Summer 2011 courses. May 15, 2011 is the last date to register in most Summer term courses without late registration fees. Different deadlines apply to students in the Master of Education Summer programs.
For new graduate students starting in May 2011, tuition or tuition payment arrangements are due May 1, 2011.
REMINDERS
1) GRADING SCHEME -As of May 1, 2011, Queen’s new letter/GPA grading scheme will come into effect and courses will be weighted using credit units. No changes will be made to your existing academic record. More grading scheme information is here.
2) TRANSCRIPTS
On May 1, the Queen’s official transcript will have a new format. Transcripts will be the same for all Faculties and Schools and will be easier to read and understand. The transcript legend has also been streamlined and updated. For Frequently Asked Questions about the official transcript changes, please click here.
Unofficial transcripts are not yet available in SOLUS. You may check your academic record term-by-term and unofficial transcripts should be ready soon.
3) T2202A FORMS
Your tax forms are available on SOLUS. The T2202A screen opens inside SOLUS and your browser must be set to allow pop-ups in order for you to see and print your tax form. If you are unsure as to how to allow pop-ups in your browser, please click here

Please note that the Office of the University Registrar, has some information that is important to you in relation to the new SOLUS system.
GRADUATING STUDENTS
Planning to graduate this spring? The Spring 2011 degree list will be compiled using the old student admin system (what you saw as QCARD). Please do not look at the Academic Advisement module in PeopleSoft—this is not applicable to graduate students.
TRANSCRIPTS
Unofficial student transcripts are not yet available in SOLUS. You may check your academic record term by term, and the cumulative transcript should be available for viewing and printing in April.
Official transcripts will be printed in the old format until April 30. As of May 1, 2011, transcripts will be available through SOLUS in the new format, including grade point average calculations (GPAs) for all continuing students.
T2202A FORMS

SOLUS the new QCARD

Information for students to help in the transition from QCARD to SOLUS
NEW – How to login to the SOLUS Student Center…
QCARD will be permanently shut down on March 4th @ 5:00 pm and the new SOLUS Student Center will be up and running on March 9th @ 7:00 am.
You must login to the new SOLUS Student Center via the Queen’s Portal at https://my.queensu.ca .

Once you are in the Portal, click on the “SOLUS Student Center” link to access SOLUS.
Materials to help you learn how to use SOLUS will be available next week.
REMINDER – QCARD shut down and student number changes…
1) QCARD shutdown - As of March 4 at 5 pm, QCARD will no longer exist. You should complete your QCARD transactions as soon as possible. Please note that courses may be dropped until March 4 at 5:00 pm.
2) Change to student numbers - As of March 9, your student number will have a “0” (zero) added as its first number. For example, the current student number of 123-4567 will become 0123-4567. This will not change how you use your student card and you will not receive a new student card.
