Here you can find information on how to access your academic related data on SOLUS.

Academic Planner
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Academic Planner. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Click the Browse Catalogue button to view the courses that you can add to your planner.

  • 3. Check the applicable courses and then click Add to Planner to put those courses into your planner. For more information on a course, such as the description or prerequisites, click on the Course Title.

Academic Planner
Apply for Graduation
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Apply for Graduation. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the program that you wish to apply for graduation in.

  • 3. Select the Expected Graduation Term and click Continue.

  • 4. Select whether you will be attending the ceremony in person, whether you would like your degree to be mailed to your primary address in SOLUS, or whether you will be picking up your degree, in person, at the Office of the University Registrar front desk sometime after the ceremony. If your diploma is a BA or BAH, you will select the diploma language to be in either English or Latin. Click the Continue button.

    4. Select whether you will be attending the ceremony in person, whether you would like your degree to be mailed to your primary address in SOLUS, or whether you will be picking up your degree, in person, at the Office of the University Registrar front desk sometime after the ceremony.   • 5. Review all of the details of your application and when you are sure they are correct, click the Submit Application button and wait for the prompt that you were successful.

  • 6. The Submit Confirmation page will display when the Application for Graduation is successful.

Class Schedule
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Class Schedule. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the desired term and then click the Continue button.

  • 3. All classes that you are currently enrolled in will then be displayed in a list form. If you would prefer a graphical schedule, click the Weekly Calendar View option.

Class Schedule
Course History
  • On your SOLUS main page, under the ‘Academics’ section, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown menu;
  • Course History’ will be the 5th menu item listed. Click on it, then click on the ‘Go’ icon;
  • From this screen, you will be able to view your complete course history at Queen's, listing each by:
    • Course Name / Number
    • Description
    • Term
    • Grade
    • # of Units
  • The course list may also be sorted by any of the aforementioned categories
Enrolment Appointments
  • 1. Click on the Details link, under the Enrollment Dates section on the right side of the SOLUS Student Center, to view Enrollment Appointments.

  • 2. In the Enrollment Appointments section, check under Appointment Begins to see the earliest date that you can begin enrolling in courses. You can enroll anytime between then and your Appointment Ends date.

Enrolment Verification
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Enrollment Verification. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the appropriate year and then click the retrieve button to load your Verification of Enrolment report.     Warning: The Verification of Enrolment report will appear in a new window so ensure that you do not have pop-ups blocked.

Enrolment Verification
Enrolment: Add Classes
  • 1. In the Academics section of the SOLUS Student Center, click the Enroll link.

  • 2. Select the term that you will be adding courses to and then click the Continue button.

  • 3. There are two ways to add courses to your shopping cart. The first is to enter the Class Number, if you know it, and then click the Enter button. The second is to click the Search button.

  • 4. Select the desired Course Subject, add at least one other Search Criteria, and click the Search button.

  • 5. Click on the Section Name link to learn more about a class such as course description and prerequisites.

  • 6. Once you have reviewed the Class Detail, click the Select Class button to add this course. To return to the Search Results page, click the View Search Results button.

  • 7. Optional: If the class requires it, select a laboratory or tutorial section to accompany the lecture. Click the Next button to continue.

  • 8. Confirm the time of the class and review any other important class information. Click the Next button to continue.

  • 9. The class has been added to your shopping cart, ready for you to enroll. If you have a valid Enrollment Appointment, click the Proceed to Step 2 of 3 button to begin the enrollment process.

  • 10. This page confirms the details for the course. To secure your place in the course, click the Finish Enrolling button.

  • 11. If there were no errors, the course will be added to your schedule.

Enrollment: Add Classes

  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Enrollment: Drop. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the desired term and click the Continue button.

  • 3. Select the course(s) you wish to drop by checking the box beside the course and then click the Drop Selected Classes button.

  • 4. Confirm that you selected the correct course(s) and when ready, click the Finish Dropping button.

Enrollment: Drop Classes

  • 2. Select the desired term and then click the Continue button.

  • 3. Select the new tutorial/lab that you want to enroll in and then click the Next button.

  • 4. Confirm the new details of the class and then click the Next button.

  • 5. Confirm your selection. When you are ready, click the Finish Editing button.

  • 6. If there are no errors, your schedule will be updated accordingly.

Enrollment: Edit

  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Enrollment: Swap. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the desired term and then click the Continue button.

  • 3. In the Swap This Class section, select the class that you would like to remove from your schedule. In the With This Class section, replace it by either: searching for a new course and clicking the Search button, selecting a course from your shopping cart and clicking the Search button or, entering the Class Number and clicking the Enter button.

  • 4. Once you have selected a class, you will need to review the information and confirm your choice. To continue, click the Finish Swapping button.

  • 5. If successful, the first course will be removed from your schedule and the second one will be added. Your schedule will be updated accordingly.

Enrollment: Swap Classes
Exam Schedule
  • On your SOLUS main page, under the ‘Academics’ section, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown menu;
  • Exam Schedule’ will be the 11th menu item listed. Click on it, then click on the ‘Go’ icon;
  • From this screen, you will be able to view your Exam Timetable listing any centrally scheduled exam sittings.
Grades
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Grades. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Select the desired term and then click the Continue button.

  • 3. Click the Grade Distribution button at the top to access the Grade Distribution report for all of your courses that term. It will open in a new window.

Program / Plan Selection

 

  • On your SOLUS main page, under the ‘Academics’ section, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown menu;
  • Program / Plan Selection’ will be the 13th menu item listed. Click on it, then click on the ‘Go’ icon;
  • From this screen, you will be able to select the Program you want (e.g: General Arts and Science)
  • Next, click the 'Look Up Academic Program' button, then click on the specific Degree program you want (e.g: BA, BSC, etc.)
  • Click the 'Look Up Academic Plan' button, then click on the specific Plan program you want (e.g: DEVS-G-BA, PHIL-M-BAH, etc..). Confirm your selection before proceeding.
  • Click on the 'Continue' button to view the status of your application.
  • If you did not receive immediate acceptance ('Pending' status), this means that you will have been placed on a waiting list for your selection. In this case, you will need to add an alternate program  / plan as a second choice
    • If you receive an acceptance for your first choice, you will be removed from your alternate selection

Transcript: Request Official
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Transcript: Request Official. Click the Go button.

  • 2. Enter required information into the four areas: A.	Select if you want it to be printed immediately, to reflect term grades, or to reflect degree conferral. B.	Choose if you want to receive it via Canada Post mail, FedEx courier, or if you will be picking it up from the University Registrar’s Office. C.	If you are sending it directly to an external agency, include their name, phone number and a reference number, if available. If you are sending it to yourself, fill in your own phone number. D.	Enter an ad

  • 4. Fill in your payment details and then click the Pay with Your Credit Card button to finalize the transaction.

  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Transcript: View Official Reqs. Click the Go button.

  • 2. All your official transcript requests will be displayed on the View Official Transcript Requests page. If you ordered your transcripts vial courier, FedEx tracking numbers will be included. Transcript order requests are processed by the Office of the University Registrar in 2-3 business days.

  • 2. Ensure Unofficial Transcript is selected from the Report Type dropdown list and then click the View Report button. SOLUS will generate your unofficial transcript and display it in a new window.

Transfer Credit Report
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Transfer Credit: Report. Click the Go button.

  • 2. You will be taken to the View Transfer Credit Report page to view all transfer credits including courses taken at other institutions, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, etc.

What-If Report
  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select What-if Report. Click the Go button.

  • 2. On the What-if Report Selection page, click the Create New Report button or click a previously generated report to view it.

  • 3. On the Create What-if Scenario page you can: A. Select different programs to compare how your current credits would fulfill various plans.  B. Add courses from the Course Catalog, by clicking the Browse Course Catalog link, to see how that reflects in the degree plans.          Click the Submit Request link to generate your What-if Report.
