Tuition Fee Payment Schedule

In order to help you better plan your student finances, please review the following information:

Deadline Date

Payment Process

June 15th

Deadline for payment of all outstanding fees.

Students will be unable to enroll if there are outstanding fees on their account.

Students are encouraged to login to the SOLUS Student Center to monitor their accounts on a regular basis – monthly is recommended.

August 15th

Alternate Payment Arrangement

  • Students will be granted an  APA automatically if you have:
    • applied for OSAP for 2014-15 and have received an assessment
    • received Provincial/Territorial government assistance last year (in 2013-14) at Queen’s
    • applied for US Government Loans for 2014-15
  • Students must submit an APA request if you will be receiving:
    • Provincial/Territorial Government Assistance (e.g. Out of Province) if you did not receive last year in 2013-14 at Queen’s (e.g. entering students)
      • Send a copy of your funding assessment (Notice of Assessment) to by August 15, 2014 to receive an APA.
      • Scholarships/Awards External to Queen’s
        • Send your award letter to by August 15, 2014
        • Third-party funding (e.g. foreign government, corporation, band funding, etc)
          Send your sponsorship letter to by August 15, 2014. For information on what the letter needs to include, see Pay by Funding Agency .
      • International Tuition fees deferred to January 31, 2015
        • Undergraduate international students who wish to defer their winter term fees should send their requests to Fall tuition and SAL is due September 1, 2014.
      • Extenuating Circumstances
        • If you have circumstances that will prevent you from paying your tuition by September 1, 2014, you may request an APA. For example, if you can pay most of your fees by the deadline, but not all (e.g. receiving final summer employment pay cheque after deadline. Provide details of your circumstance in an email and send to by August 15, 2014.
      • Personal Credits under the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement

September 1st

First payment due

Tuition fees for the 2014-2015 Academic year (Fall/Winter) and any other outstanding debts will be required by September 1st, 2014 unless you have been granted an APA to defer your September 1st tuition fees to September 30th.


September 1st

Missing the deadline

A Late Fee of $150 (full-time) or $50.00 (part-time) will be assessed if;

  • Tuition is not paid in full and/or
  •  Alternate Payment Arrangement has not been submitted and approved, and/or
  • Graduate student has not enrolled into the payment plan, and/or
  • Sponsorship letter has not been submitted to the Office of the University Registrar.

September 1st

Course-related consequences for non-payment

Students will not be able to add or swap courses if they have an outstanding charge on their account.

September 30th

All fees – Due Date

The balance of student fees and residence fees will be due on September 30th, 2014.


October 15th

Service Charges Assessed 

Monthly service charges will accrue based on unpaid balances as of the 15th of the month (October-August).  The rate is Prime + 3% annualized.


Students receiving Government aid:

  • Undergraduate students receiving OSAP will automatically receive a waiver of service charges up to 40% of the value of the OSAP entitlement provided that students process their first installment.
  • Out-of-province students who have submitted an Alternate Payment Arrangement, and are receiving government assistance, will receive a waiver of service charges up to the amount of their second installment.
