Construction of our new library/herbarium building began in July.

Funded through a generous donation from a QUBS alumna, our new library/herbarium building is starting to take shape just west of the Raleigh J. Roberston Biodiversity Centre. When finished the new facility will include a state-of-the art library and work space, will house the Fowler Herbarium collection with over 100,000 plant specimens, and will include 4 laboratory/work spaces for users on the bottom floor. The building will be 4-season with ICF foundation and excellent insulation in the top story. We have opted for geothermal to allow climate control for our library and plant collections.
