Spring 2024 - How Pure

 

How pure my mother is. I am fascinated and threatened by it, because I am built differently. Everything good and bad sticks to me. I walk around like an old fly catcher.

    She is more Mother Mary than parent to me, and that’s why there are hundreds of pictures of her on my bedroom wall – of her as a child, as a teenager, as a young adult, of her alone, her with her many friends, her the way she was, her the way she is now …


Bio:

Tanya Tomasch is a Canadian writer, musician, and translator who grew up in Austria and Czechia and now lives in Vancouver. Her work is also appearing in issues 8 and 9 of Thimbleberry.
