Jim Curtis has a PhD from Columbia University. Inspired by seeing a live performance by Elvis Presley in Presley’s hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi, he became a rock music historian. He is the author of two books on rock and roll, Rock Eras and Decoding Dylan.
