We are pleased to announce The Canada Homestay Network (CHN) as the new homestay provider for Queen’s School of English (QSoE) beginning in August 2015. For decades, we offered our own homestay program, which has become a vital part of our student experience here at Queen’s and in Kingston. We would like to acknowledge the contributions of our Homestay Coordinators: Mary-Lou Nolte, who helped to establish and develop the homestay program for more than twenty years, and Helen Parfitt, who helped to coordinate the program during the past three years.

QSoE Newsletter Winter Review 2015

Greetings from Queen's School of English,
As the summer days warm up, QSoE continues to welcome more international students to the Queen's campus. In this newsletter, we are excited to provide you with an update on the hiring of our new Director and share with you stories about what our students and staff have been doing in the past few months.
Winter is always an exciting time of year in Kingston, especially for those students who are experiencing winter for the first time. Our adventurous students in the Canadian English Experience (CEE) Program took full advantage of the activities and trips that are included in the program: cross-country skiing, skating on the Rideau Canal and trying the Beaver's Tale for the first time in Ottawa. While the CEE students stay with us for four weeks in the winter, most of our English for Academic Purposes (EAP) students continue on to the Summer Session, which started in May with students from 13 different countries. Next week, our QBridge Accelerated begins, followed by the CEE Program in August.

Fall Review 2014

Greetings from Queen's School of English!

We hope that everyone has had a great start to 2015. It has definitely been a busy start for everyone here at Queen's School of English as we welcomed students from 11 different countries for the winter session of our English for Academic Purposes Program and now we are preparing for two additional programs in February, a tailored Cross-Cultural Workshop and an open Canadian English Experience program.
