75th Anniversary Celebration at The Agnes Etherington Art Centre

Our final celebration of our 75th Anniversary was one for the record books! Students from the Volunteering in the Community elective class and the Volunteering in the Community Club worked together to create a fabulous evening which highlighted our school's heritage, diversity, and future. Set in the beautiful atrium of the Agnes, students installed booths of some of the many countries represented by our student body including China, South Korea, Japan, Brazil, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and even Canada! At each booth, students displayed interesting facts, tastes of food particular to various regions within their countries, and even taught guests how to write their names in multiple languages!

The celebration was well attended by current students, faculty, alumni, and friends of the school. The evening included very special guests such as Principal Woolf, Dean of the Faculty of Education Rebecca Luce-Kapler, Cultural Counselor Vern Mishiikenh Altiman from Four Directions, Deputy Mayor Jim Neill, and the star of the evening was certainly RCMP Constable Jason Greene, who graciously posed for pictures all evening long!

As the evening came to a close, it seemed as though students were already looking forward to our 80th Anniversary Celebration and we left the Agnes quietly excited about what the future holds for the Queen's School of English.
