Queen's responds to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)

August 2014

We have concluded our discussions with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) and have signed our strategic mandate agreement (SMA), a copy of which now is available on the Ministry’s website.

Our appendix to the strategic mandate agreement, submitted to the Ministry in December 2013, serves to add substance to our proposed mandate statement and strategic mandate agreement. It is also meant to outline the alignment of our university level objectives to the provincial government’s Differentiation Framework, while maintaining its integrity for Queen’s an integral component of our Strategic Framework by supporting the vision and mandate of the university.

Queen's University has submitted its proposed mandate statement, vision, and three priority objectives, in response to the government's request to develop strategic mandate agreements with each post secondary institution.

In addition, Queen's University submitted a response to the MTCU discussion paper Strengthening Ontario's Centres of Creativity, Innovation and Knowledge.The report is a synopsis of commentary received over the summer from students and faculty, as well as from stakeholders within the Kingston community.
