Congratulations to Dr. Célia Romulus, whose dissertation, Remembering the Duvalierist State – Gender, State Repression, and Migration Patterns between Haiti and Canada, has won the 2023 Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS)-ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award in the Fine Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities category. Dr. Romulus, a recent graduate of the Doctoral program at the Department of Political Studies, is now Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa.  

Congratulations are also extended to Supervisor Dr. Margaret Little, jointly appointed to Gender Studies and Political Studies at Queen's University.
