Death of a student


Queen’s regrets to inform the community of the death of an upper-year student. Allison Borges of Oakville died October 9 at her Kingston home. She was a student in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

The family has indicated that the cause of death was a previously unknown medical condition.

“On behalf of everyone in the Queen’s community, I want to express my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Allison’s family, friends, and loved ones,” says Principal Daniel Woolf. “We are all tremendously saddened by this loss.”

The funeral service will take place Thursday, October 13, 11 am, at St. Matthews Parish Church,1150 Monks Passage, Oakville.

Flags on campus will be lowered in Allison’s memory, and details of a memorial service will be announced when they become available.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to www.karunalaya.org.
