Uncertainty for Libya
Louis Delvoie, a fellow at the Centre for International and Defence Policy at Queen's University, is available to talk about the unfolding events in Libya.
“The Libyan rebels have been united around one objective: getting rid of the Gadhafi regime. Now that has been accomplished, the National Transition Council will face two major challenges. The first is to maintain its own internal cohesion. The second is to impose itself as a government on a fractious and fractured Libya. On both scores the outcome is anything but certain.”
Mr. Delvoie, a career diplomat, served as Canadian ambassador in Pakistan from 1991-94 and Algeria from 1980-82.
Please note that Mr. Delvoie is only available for phone interviews.
