'Super union' merger vote: Queen's University expert

2012-10-22

Queen’s University labour expert Pradeep Kumar is available to talk about today’s ‘super union’ vote on a merger between the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada.

Dr. Kumar (a School of Policy Studies professor who researches unionism, collective bargaining and workplace change in North America) feels this is a necessary move because of the declining power of unions. If approved, this merger will give the newly created union much more power.

Please note Dr. Kumar is only available for phone interviews.

To arrange an interview, please contact communication officers Michael Onesi (office: 613.533.6000 ext. 77513, michael.onesi@queensu.ca) or Anne Craig (office: 613-533-2877, Anne.Craig@queensu.ca) at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
