Stats Canada blood pressure report
Chris Simpson, head of the Division of Cardiology at the Queen’s University School of Medicine, will be available on Wednesday, Feb. 17 to discuss the Statistics Canada’ s report on Blood Pressure in Canadian Adults being released that morning.
This report provides benchmark estimates of blood pressure levels in the adult population. It also provides estimates of the prevalence of high blood pressure by sex and age group as well as estimates of hypertension awareness, treatment and control.
The statistics are based on data from cycle 1 of the Canadian Health Measures Survey conducted from March 2007 through February 2009.
