State of the Union will set political tone: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University American politics expert Brandon Tozzo is available to comment on the 2013 State of the Union address. President Barack Obama will give the address on Feb. 12 after accepting an invitation from House Speaker John Boehner.

“In the State of the Union address, newly re-elected President Barack Obama will outline his objectives to a joint session of Congress,” says Dr. Tozzo. “We can expect that he will discuss several important objectives including gun control, immigration reform and job creation. He will also likely outline a plan to combat climate change - a topic that was ignored during his first term. The State of the Union will set the political tone for Obama's second term.”
