Socially responsible giving
Jay Handelman, expert in social responsibility, is available to discuss trends in holiday buying and marketing.
Dr. Handelman says that “buying more environmentally friendly products builds on the idea of the past three years or so of seeing more holiday gifts around social responsibility issues in general – like buying a goat for a family in Africa. This is part of the trend towards buying more ‘meaningful’ holiday gifts.”
A professor of marketing, Dr. Handelman is the Director of the Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at Queen’s. His research and teaching centre on ways corporations integrate emotional, social and cultural dimensions into their marketing strategies.
