Salt and sodium

Queen’s University Professor Michael Adams is available to discuss the effects of salt and sodium on the body. Today, the Sodium Working Group will present its final report, which will include 27 recommendations. The group was created by the federal government as part of a national strategy aimed at getting Canadians to consume less salt.

Dr. Adams is a professor in the department of pharmacology and toxicology. His research interests include the causes and consequences of cardiovascular disease and the development of new therapeutic strategies in prevention and treatment. Earlier this year, he participated in a strategic planning workshop related to sodium levels.
