RIM's quarterly earnings announcement: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University expert Neil Bearse is available to talk about Research in Motion’s quarterly profit/loss announcement which happens on Thursday.

Mr. Bearse, the Queen’s School of Business Associate Director of Marketing, expects the struggling Canadian tech giant to announce more bad news.

“Despite new leadership at RIM, the company has continued their lack of innovation in the fastest moving area of technology. Consumers are increasingly jumping ship to more advanced iPhone and Android devices. Investors are less interested in next generation operating systems, and more intrigued by potential takeovers by Microsoft or Facebook; companies desperate to leverage RIM's valuable mobile assets” says Mr. Bearse, who teaches social media workshops in the Queen’s School of Business’s executive education program.
