Prince Charles' Canadian visit: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University teaching fellow and royal history expert Carolyn Harris is available to talk about Prince Charles and Camilla’s Canadian visit, which begins this weekend.
The royal couple will visit CFB Gagetown (N.B.), Saint John, Toronto and Regina as part of their trip in honour of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.
“Like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit in July, 2011, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are touring Canada around a holiday weekend, which should increase the number of Canadians able to see them during their tour. The decision to host the royal visit over the Victoria Day weekend is particularly appropriate in 2012 since Queen Victoria is the only previous British monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee,” says Dr. Harris.
Dr. Harris studies British royalty and recently received her history PhD from Queen’s. She also blogs about the royals at www.royalhistorian.com.
Please note Dr. Harris is based in Toronto and will not be available over the long weekend for interviews.
