Prime Minister Jack Layton?

2011-05-02

Queen’s University political studies professor emeritus Ned Franks is available to talk about possible coalition scenarios after Monday’s election.

Few people thought Jack Layton had a chance to become Prime Minister before the election, but with some polls now putting the NDP in second place, Dr. Franks says it’s a possibility.

“Prime Minister Jack Layton? It’s a possible scenario with the NDP surging in the polls. If the Conservatives get a minority Parliament and the NDP get the second-most seats, Jack Layton could be in line to become our next Prime Minister,” says Dr. Franks.
