North American auto industry bailout

2010-03-19

In the wake of recent financial system bailouts, should the North American auto industry be next? Are the systemic implications of a bankruptcy in the North American auto industry as important to the economy as those of a large bank's failure to the financial system?
Dr. Louis Gagnon, associate professor of Finance, Queen's School of Business is available to discuss these and other questions related to the global economic slowdown.
In addition to his expertise in risk management, capital markets and derivative securities, Dr. Gagnon is uniquely well positioned to discuss these issues based on his experience at one of Canada’s largest banks where he led a team overseeing global interest rate derivatives risk exposures. He is also fluent in French.
Note: Dr. Gagnon is only available for phone and email interviews as he is currently out of the country. He can be reached at louis.gagnon@telus.blackberry.net
