Monaco's Prince Albert visits Canada

Queen’s University royal historian Carolyn Harris is available to talk about today’s news that Prince Albert II of Monaco and his wife Princess Charlene are coming to Toronto on Wednesday.

The royal couple will attend a grand opening event for an exhibit titled "Grace Kelly: From Movie Star to Princess." Prince Albert is the son of Grace Kelly.

"The recent visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has increased Canadian interest in royal visits. The visit of the Prince and Princess of Monaco for the Grace Kelly exhibition is particularly timely as Grace Kelly is one of the most famous commoners to marry into a princely house. Her experiences may be compared to those of the Duchess of Cambridge and the current princess of Monaco," says Ms. Harris, a teaching fellow at Queen’s and PhD history student studying British and French monarchy.

Please note Carolyn Harris is in Toronto today.
