Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment deal
Queen’s University business professor Ken Wong is available to comment on Rogers and Bell buying control of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. The cost of the deal is $1.3 billion.
MLSE owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Marlies and the Air Canada Centre.
“It's all about content ownership and business models,” Professor Wong said. “In fact, this should make the effected teams a stronger performer in terms of economics.”
Professor Wong is a frequently cited marketing expert and has worked with hundreds of clients as a marketing and strategic planning consultant, including BC Hydro, Cambrian Chemicals, Dupont, and many more.
