Libya and Canada's military action

2011-03-14

Queen’s University’s international security expert Anthony Seaboyer is available to discuss Canada’s decision to send a warship to the Mediterranean Sea in response to the international crisis in Libya. There are also reports that JTF2, Canada's elite special forces unit, were on the ground in the region.

“It’s becoming inevitable. The Gadhafi regime’s actions – such as bombing his own cities and using warplanes to shoot his own people – have become so alarming and intolerable that we cannot stand by and tolerate this. Canada has to take a stand,” says Professor Seaboyer, who is the Head of the Proliferation and Security Research Unit at the Centre for International Relations at Queen’s.
