Iran sanctions

2010-07-29

Queen’s University visiting lecturer Anthony Seaboyer is available to discuss today’s announcement that the Canadian government is introducing new sanctions against Iran in order to curtail its nuclear weapons program.

Mr. Seaboyer is an expert in Canadian and international security issues at the Queen’s University Centre for International Relations and has taught courses on Iran’s nuclear program.

“Canada is once again showing how committed it is to delivering its share in solving the Iranian nuclear crisis. These new sanctions are a significant step forward. The Iranian president's announcement to halt trade relations with any country implementing these new unilateral sanctions shows how much they touch Iranian interests,” Mr. Seaboyer says.
