iPad 3 launch
Queen’s University digital culture and technology expert Sidneyeve Matrix is available to talk about Apple’s highly anticipated launch of the iPad 3, which takes place on Wednesday.
“It’s nearly been a year since the iPad 2 was released so the time is right for an upgrade. There are many rumours on what updates will be added – higher resolution screen, Siri (the popular voice-activated assisted that was recently added to the iPhone 4S), and a cheaper 8-gigabyte iPad to compete with low-cost competitors. No matter what the updates are, there will be a buying frenzy from Apple’s diehard users the day the iPad 3 hits the stores," says Dr. Matrix, who is a professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies.
