Infectious disease experts
Dr. Dick Zoutman and Dr. Wendy Wobeser, infectious disease specialists are available to speak about the recent Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak.
Dr. Zoutman can speak about the outbreak world wide from point of view of specific cases, prevention and infectious diseas (microbiology). He recently led the work of the Health Canada-sponsored working group to develop guidelines for hospital preparedness in the face of bioterrorist attack such as the anthrax scare in the U.S. after Sept. 11.
Dr. Wobeser is an expert in lower respiratory tract infections. She recently co-authored a paper entitled 'Method of detection of active TB in persons classified for medical surveillance by the immigration screening program', published in the Canadian Journal of Public Health, March/April, 2002;93(2):88-91
