Google+ introduces vanity URLs: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University social media expert Sidneyeve Matrix can provide comment on Google+, a social networking platform set to rival Facebook, rolling out vanity URLs to verified users. The shorter, more memorable custom URLs are being provided to verified brands and celebrities including Toyota, Britney Spears, David Beckham and Delta.
With this announcement, Google joins the ranks of other social networks, including MySpace and Facebook, who added the vanity URL option years ago.
Dr. Matrix is only available for phone interviews.
To arrange an interview, please contact communication officers Anne Craig at 613-533-2877 or anne.craig@queensu.ca or Michael Onesi at 613.533.6000 ext. 77513 or michael.onesi@queensu.at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
