French Strike

France is in the grip of a massive strike by both public and private sector workers, with millions of workers left without transportation. The media is calling it ‘Black Thursday’ and already marches and protests are planned in over 200 French municipalities.
Timothy Smith, professor of History at Queen’s University specializes in modern French history, and can discuss developments and trends in social welfare, income inequality and policy that have led France to this moment.
