European Union fuel-quality directive vote penalizes oil-sands: Queen's University Professor
Queen’s University geography professor, climatologist and global warming expert Professor Harry McCaughey is available to talk about the upcoming European Union vote on a proposed fuel-quality directive that directly penalizes oil-sands crude for its high-emissions content.
He can also comment on research recently published in the journal Nature that shows oil-sands emissions might not be as dirty as previously thought. It shows that burning all the world’s coal resources, the earth would heat up more quickly than if every barrel of the oil-sands resource were burned.
Dr. McCaughey is only available for phone interviews.
