CNOOC-Nexen deadline approaches: Queen's University expert


Queen’s University experts David Detomasi and Warren Mabee are available to talk about whether the federal government will allow China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) to purchase Calgary-based Nexen Inc. for $15.1 billion.

The deadline for a decision is Monday and both experts are available for reaction.

Dr. Mabee is the director of the Queen’s University Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy, and a professor in the School of Policy Studies. He has authored numerous studies examining policy for renewable energy options, and has provided expert advice to both federal and provincial governments.

Dr. Detomasi is a School of Business professor who specializes in oil and gas industry as well as international business. (Please note Dr. Detomasi is available for phone interviews only.)
