China-Canada relations
Bruce Gilley is able to speak to recent developments between Canada and China’s relationship. Formerly of Princeton University, Dr. Gilley is a professor of political studies with a specialty in the politics of China.
He suggests that China's 'snub' towards Harper is a sign of development between Canada and China’s relationship, and should be seen as a good thing from Canada’s perspective.
Dr. Gilley is the author of three university-press books on China and several book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. He holds a Masters degree in economics from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelors degree in international relations from the University of Toronto.
