Canada's response to Syria: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University Middle East expert Houchang Hassan-Yari is available to talk about the latest developments in Syria, the Friends of Syria meeting in Paris, as well as what Canada can be doing to help stop the crisis.
“I think Canada should be putting more pressure on Russia and China, and co-operate more with Turkey because Turkey is on the front lines,” says Dr. Hassan Yari (who can do interviews in French and English). “Canada alone can’t change what is happening in Syria. For Canada to do anything substantial, the government needs to work with other countries and help with coalition forces such as the UN and NATO.”
Please note that Dr. Hassan-Yari wants to be identified in the media as a Middle East expert from Queen’s University and Royal Military College.
To arrange an interview, please contact communication officers Anne Craig at 613-533-2877 or anne.craig@queensu.ca or Michael Onesi at 613.533.6000 ext. 77513 or michael.onesi@queensu.at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
