Bank of Canada interest rate announcement: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University real estate expert John Andrew is available to talk about Bank of Canada interest rate announcement on Wednesday.

While many economists don’t expect a hike, Dr. Andrew (the director of the Queen’s Real Estate Roundtable) can comment on the impact an interest rate announcement would have on Canadian families.

“A lot of Canadian home owners have their fingers crossed that there will be no interest rate hike. With the sluggish economy and high personal debt levels, a small hike would be felt hard by some families,” says Dr. Andrew, a professor in the Queen’s School of Urban and Regional Planning and School of Business.
