What's new in Industrial Relations?
A Master of Industrial Relations Alumni Conference 2008 will take place on Thursday and Friday this week at the Donald Gordon Centre, 421 Union Street. The State of the Practice 2008 conference is geared to former Queen's MIRs, current students and selected guests. It is designed to expose MIR practitioners to news in the field from leading practitioners in North America, union leaders and academics on the HR topics that will be shaping companies, unions and government opinion for the next decade.
The conference will also serve as a mentoring session between alumni and current students. Monte Solberg, Federal Cabinet Minister, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, will give the keynote talk on Friday at 7:30 am.
