United Way campaign heats up with student barbeque
2011-10-19
To increase the awareness of the Queen’s United Way campaign, the Alma Mater Society hosted a barbeque on October 18 in front of the John Deutsch University Centre at the corner of Union Street and University Avenue. Proceeds from the event went to the United Way serving Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.
The Queen's community--staff, faculty, students and retirees--consistenly make an important contribution to the United Way of KFLA through the university's workplace campaign. As of October 11, the Queen’s community had raised over $240,000 of the university’s $320,000 fundraising goal.
