Training preparations underway for the new HR PeopleSoft system
Formal training for the new Human Resources PeopleSoft system begins in October, and training materials are currently being developed.
“A variety of training opportunities will be offered to ensure that system users have a chance to familiarize themselves with the elements of the new PeopleSoft system that apply to them,” says Julie Mekarski, Director, Organizational Development and Learning.
Online and classroom-delivered introductory PeopleSoft courses will be offered first, followed by specific, specialized courses for targeted users. Courses through approximately January 2012 will allow users to receive their training as close as possible to when they will begin using the new system.
Nearly all initial HR training will be instructor-led, with hands-on components providing participants the opportunity to use the system while in the classroom. Some courses will have open registration, to allow users the choice of class that best suits their schedule; some courses will be specifically targeted to user groups and participant registration will not be available to all users.
There will be 19 courses available and employees who are identified as requiring any of the courses will be notified in early October with details on how to register.
