Summer workshops focus on wellness


Have you ever wanted to do yoga at work? Thanks to a new series of summer workshops offered by Human Resources, in partnership with Queen’s Athletics and Recreation, Queen’s employees will soon have the opportunity to do that and more.

“These workshops focus on how an individual can make positive choices towards improved health and workplace engagement, says Shannon Hill, Learning and Development Specialist, Human Resources. “Wellness is an important aspect of life, both in the office and at home. These sessions will complement our other course offerings.”

In addition to Yoga in the Workplace, workshops include Organizing Your Office, Lifestyle Planning, The Sandwich Generation, Budgeting, Parenting, and a panel discussion on how to stay fit. The workshops are open to all faculty and staff members, but registration is required as space is limited.

Workshop topics were selected based on feedback from individuals who have taken learning sessions through HR or have contacted HR with ideas. Workshops with a focus on wellness will continue into the new school year.

Beginning the week of July 11, one workshop will be held per week at the Faculty and Staff Learning Facility seminar room in Mackintosh-Corry Hall. For more information and details on how to register, visit the learning catalogue on the HR website.
